Whether you’re a first-timer or a more seasoned student, come spend an enjoyable afternoon immersed in the skills of memoir writing including:
- getting started
- accessing memory
- descriptive writing through sensory prompts
Using guided exercises and hands-on instruction, you will learn or improve upon your own skills as well as the memoir writing template.
Join us for an afternoon filled with community, fun discussion, and in-class exercises (none of which you are required to share publicly).
Workshop Leader
Cathaleen Roach is a decades-long Summer Resident of Washington Island and a recently retired lawyer. She has taught writing professionally in many forms, including legal writing and memoir writing, for many years in the Chicago area. Her workshop on Memoir Writing is a popular fixture on the local circuit and is among Cathaleen’s favorites to teach.

The workshop is donation based. Please register with a donation of any amount. We are suggesting a donation of $30 for the workshop but please give whatever feels right. We look forward to having you in the workshop!
